Great way to spend the afternoon admiring and learning about art. Wonderful rooftop garden to top it off. Took about 3 hours to get through.

It's a great museum with different varieties of Modern Art. I especially loved the Soundtracks exhibit if you enjoy art and music and sounds.
Friday Night Brazilian Carnival very cool! Free good quality show, mask art crafting activity for kids, drinks ... well organized and people were really enjoying themselves!

Great art in a beautiful location. Check out the ocean view and the Golden Gate Bridge next to the museum on a clear day.
The original 'mural alley', Balmy Alley is a maintained outdoor mural gallery instrumental in the outdoor art movement.

This is the most fully comprehensive museum I've been to, exhibiting art from China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Set aside over 2 hours if you want to see everything.
Interactive aspects are cool and rare for Asian Art Museums which typically use traditional methods to feature ancient art. Free community days are awesome since adult admission is usually $25 each.

Check out the great view from Pete's Cafe. Enjoy the fish pond in the courtyard, view the Diego Rivera mural, Walter McBean Gallery, and look out for ghosts coming from the tower, it's art school too
Check out this open air campus. The entire building's structure that is designed to carve out picture perfect views of SF. Rivera mural is fantastic as are the current student installations.

Nowhere does their website say that the gallery is closed on Tuesday. If you want to see an exhibition rather than overpriced street art tshirts, come some other time.
