IrmaZandl Z. • September 23, 2018Totally young scene. Pretty cool tho and I love that meres one from 5 Pointz is doing and curating the art. The outdoor plaza “open to the public” will be an interesting experiment.
Matthew • July 18, 2014This is NOT Grand Central Station. It is a public rooftop plaza at the corner of 3rd Ave & E 40th St. Quite relaxing on a Summer Friday at 5pm. Check it out if you have time to kill b4 a train.
Andrew F. • October 29, 2015This plaza was remodeled in 2005. The reason it exists is that the zoning board said that 55 Water could be 5 stories taller if they dedicated an acre to public use.
Stribling & Associates • February 16, 2012Largely unnoticed by the public, what appears to be just another public mural in this plaza are actually five sections of the Berlin Wall, placed here in 1990.
Norman E. • December 22, 2015The bathroom lines can be excruciatingly long. As an alternative use the public bathrooms in The Plaza hotel across the street and pee in peace.
Thompson Hotels • February 24, 2012The public arts are alive and well at the WFC’s Winter Garden and its outdoor plaza.
IWalked Audio Tours • January 19, 2012Dag Hammarskjold Plaza is the largest public garden on the east side of Midtown. Check out the Katharine Hepburn Garden (who formerly lived nearby). The garden bench was a gift from her estate.
