DR G. • August 21, 2015Great cheap izakaya. Grilled squid is my favorite.
Luciano T. • December 27, 2012This is my favorite izakaya in NYC. A little bit noisy and dark, but lots of variety of sake. I recommend Nigori if you are tired of regular sake, particularly "Nebuta Genshu"
Ian C. • June 18, 2023Excellent late-night kushiyaki-focused izakaya. If you’re ever craving for yakitori, skewers come out really fast!
AmateurConcierge • August 17, 2018Solid izakaya fare from the 1 or 8 dude. Fried ebi and fried chicken both addictive. Jack also great. Sushi looked great but didn’t try it. Good cocktail too
ZenFoodster • September 6, 2015Izakaya w/ Japanese tapas & non-traditional ramen & great HH drinks. Stay away from the skimpy yakitori sticks. Order the Uni ramen w/ tomato, scallion, & Parmesan, grilled edamame, & fried squid legs
Clyde Erwin B. • November 13, 2010Great Izakaya food for those late nights. Bawa (Pork) and Kawa (Chicken Skin) are my favorite skewers here. The Tatsuta Age (Fried Chicken) is delicious! And the Rock Shrimp is also delicious! Much ch
Escott H. • December 9, 2016Good place to go for a cheap meal, izakaya style. Assortment of Japanese style tapas and ramen.
Clyde Erwin B. • August 19, 2014I've only had the sushi here and it's just "alright." It doesn't stand out from the rest. The ambiance isn't even really of a true Izakaya spot. But if you need a new date spot, this place is that.
Ina L. • May 18, 2015Delicious authentic izakaya place with selections of sake! Food is a bit heavy and salty but so delicious.
Domo • June 29, 2013This place offers fine Japanese cuisine, but is not a traditional izakaya (居酒屋). Gyu-don here is burger patties and mashed potato served on rice. Try the grilled mackerel if you're a seafood fan.
Village Voice • August 4, 2014Executive chef Koji Nakan cooks some of the most refined Japanese food in the city, taking humble izakaya dishes and turning them into something you won't mind shelling out serious cash for.
Elliot C. • July 5, 2021Really great food, drinks and cocktails. It’s got it all. The owner is super friendly.
Mari • August 12, 2011Best in the winter. Classic pub food, get the wings and mac and cheese.
Corey P. • August 21, 2017bro-duechy scene at night but fine cocktails and a really good food menu. highly recommend the deep fried pickles as well as the pat lafreda burger
